Placeholder – Yosemite National Park
It was raining in the lower altitudes when we left our hotel, and rain soon changed to snow as we climbed uphill. We were required to put on snow chains before entering the park. A lot of cars were waiting in line. I tried to put on the chains by myself, but couldn’t seem to get them tight enough. I was frustrated. Anna was excited by the snow and insisted on getting out of the car to play with snow.
Finally I paid 20 bucks to have the chains installed and observed how the professional “chain-installer” (they are even licensed by the State of California to do this) put on the chains in 5 minutes. This picture shows what the chains look like when installed. This is the first time I drove with snow chains, and it felt weird. Later today I uninstalled and installed the chains by myself — the $20 was tuition well-spent.
Just a few snapshots. More (and hopefully better) pictures shot with slide film will have to uploaded later after I get them developed and scanned.
